The StepOne AI Buildathon is a national-level online hackathon designed to identify exceptional builders who can create real-world AI systems for marketing automation.
Participants will develop an intelligent content engine that transforms raw event media into platform-ready marketing assets without human intervention.
The StepOne AI Buildathon is not a traditional coding competition. It is a search for builders who can design systems that solve real business problems with clarity, robustness, and intelligence. StepOne, an experiential marketing company, executes large-scale brand events across India. Each event generates hundreds of photos and videos, which are currently processed manually into marketing assets.
This hackathon challenges participants to automate that entire workflow using AI. Participants will build a Content Intelligence Engine that takes raw event media as input and produces publish-ready outputs for multiple platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram posts, Instagram stories, and a structured case study draft. The system must not only generate high-quality outputs but also define its own selection logic for choosing the best assets. The challenge is designed to test not just output quality, but also system thinking.
Teams must ensure their solution works consistently across different datasets without manual intervention. In addition, they are required to clearly document their architecture, decision-making process, and system limitations. The hackathon will be conducted fully online.
Teams will submit their final working prototypes along with supporting documentation and walkthrough videos. From all submissions, the top 10 teams will be shortlisted based on evaluation criteria such as output quality, platform differentiation, robustness, and clarity of architecture.
These top 10 teams will then be invited for a final pitching round where they will present their systems and thinking in depth. Beyond prize money, this hackathon serves as a hiring funnel for StepOne, with select participants being offered the opportunity to work on building the company’s AI-powered marketing platform. This is an opportunity to build something meaningful, solve a real-world problem, and potentially become part of a product that redefines how marketing is executed.
