iQOO City Battles has 7 tracks. All open to students and working professionals. Every track rewards a local or open-source model at the core. Here’s what to build in each.
Track 1: FinTech and Commerce
What: Money, payments, commerce, lending, investing, financial inclusion – built for how India actually transacts.
Ideas:
- UPI fraud detector using on-device AI (camera scans QR, model validates)
- Voice-based expense tracker in regional languages
- Investment advisor that works offline for rural users
- AR product try-on for e-commerce using phone camera
Track 2: Smart Education
What: AI-powered learning, tutoring, study workflows, assessment, skilling.
Ideas:
- Phone camera that solves math problems step-by-step (on-device)
- Voice-based tutor in Hindi/Tamil that adapts to student level
- AR flashcards – point camera at textbook, see 3D explanations
- Exam prep app that generates questions from your notes via camera
Track 3: HealthTech
What: Healthcare, wellness, fitness, mental health AI solutions.

Track 6: Developer Tools
What: Tools that help developers create, test, deploy, or collaborate faster using AI.
Ideas:
- Code review from phone – photograph whiteboard code, AI analyzes
- On-device API tester with natural language commands
- Git diff viewer optimized for phone screen with AI summaries
- Voice-to-code – describe what you want, local LLM generates code on phone
Track 7: Open Innovation
What: Anything outside the other tracks. Any domain. Local/open-source model at the core.
Ideas:
- Regional language content creator – speak in your language, AI creates social posts
- Accessibility tool – phone camera reads signs/text aloud for visually impaired
- Local news aggregator with on-device summarization (no internet needed)
- Cultural heritage – AR that overlays historical info when you point camera at monuments
How to Pick Your Track
- Match your skills – if you know computer vision, pick a camera-heavy track
- Think phone-first – which track lets you USE phone features most creatively?
- Check competition – FinTech and Education attract the most teams. Developer Tools and Smart Living might have less competition
- Local model bonus – every track rewards on-device/open-source models. Plan for this.
